Open and convert files in your browser
OpenFileKit is a set of free tools for reading saved emails and viewing or converting GPS map files. Each file is opened by your own browser, so it never leaves your computer.

How it works
Most online converters ask you to upload a file and wait for a server to send something back. These tools do the work inside the page instead, which matters when the file is a private email or a record of where you have been.
Step 1
Choose a file
Drop a file on this page or pick a tool from the lists above. The file type decides which tool opens: an .eml file goes to the EML viewer, a .gpx file to the GPX viewer.
Step 2
Your browser reads it
JavaScript running in this browser tab reads the file straight from your device and shows the email or the map. The file is not sent to us or to anyone else.
Step 3
Save the result, or close the tab
Converted files and PDFs are made on your device and saved from your browser like any other download. Closing the tab discards the file you opened.
Nothing is uploaded
There is no upload step, so there is no copy of your file on a server for anyone to keep, read or lose.
No account
There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to install. Open the page and use the tool.
Free, paid for by ads
Every tool is free to use. Advertising on the pages covers the cost of running the site.
Two things do use the network, and neither involves your file. The map viewers download background map tiles for the area you are looking at, and the email viewers fetch remote images only if you press “Load images”. The privacy policy explains both.
